Peter Egan joined Manuel & Thompson, P.A. in 2020 and brings with him 19 years of litigation, trial, negotiation, and claim valuation experience. Prior to becoming part of the team, Peter worked with two of the largest insurance defense firms in the State of Florida. In that capacity, he represented insurance carriers and large corporate clients in state and nationwide civil litigation matters involving personal injury, premises liability, coverage disputes, and risk management. Peter decided to shift the focus of his practice and use the experience he gained and his knowledge of the inner workings of the insurance companies to focus on the needs of injured persons in Northwest Florida. Peter is intimately familiar with the litigation and claim valuation strategies of “Big Insurance” and effectively uses that knowledge fighting for the rights of our clients to secure the compensation they deserve.
Peter graduated from the University of Florida in 1995 and earned his law degree from St. Thomas University in 2001, graduating with honors and as a member of the Legal Honor Society of Phi Delta Phi. Prior to graduation, Peter served as Senior Articles Editor of the St. Thomas University Law Review and was Vice Justice of the Student Honor Court. Peter is admitted to practice in all State Courts in the State of Florida as well as the United States District Courts for the Middle and Northern Districts of Florida.
Peter, originally from Central Florida, has been a resident of Panama City since 2005 when he relocated from South Florida and is truly proud to call Bay County home. He is an avid outdoorsman, enjoys boating, fishing, hunting, and reading, as well as spending quality time with his family.
